A1032: Non-Leaded Red Brass and Yellow Brass Casting Alloys

Discusses the two new red brasses (C89510 and C89520) and one new yellow brass (89550). The machinability ratings and casting characteristics of these bismuth and selenium modified brasses are presented. Specifying these non-leaded EnviroBrass (SeBiLOY) alloys facilitates meeting NSF Standard 61 which relates to the 1996 amendment to the EPA’s Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA).
