Policy

Advocating for Copper’s Future

CDA champions copper’s value through public policy, partnerships, and the voices of our members.

Policies at the federal, state, and local levels play a critical role in shaping the future of the domestic copper industry. The Copper Development Association actively engages with lawmakers, agencies, and key stakeholders to ensure that copper’s benefits are recognized and its role in American innovation, infrastructure, and sustainability is fully supported.

Through our Government Affairs team and a network of advocates across the country, CDA promotes copper-positive solutions on key public policy issues—from resource availability to infrastructure investment and product standards. We also empower our members to tell the copper story directly to policymakers, amplifying their voices through initiatives like the bipartisan Copper Caucus.

Explore our policy positions, current campaigns, and the economic impact of copper—and learn how you can support the continued strength and growth of the industry.
